Amazing retreat housing in the middle of the vinyards. The owners are very welcoming, and one can feel that they filled the entire place with love. As a plus, there are magnificent pieces of art all throughout the property! I would definitely come back here!

We had an incredible time at Mas Els Igols (Soul Farm) for a bachelorette girls trip in February 2023. Arnout and Iris were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The property itself is stunning – set on beautiful vineyards, the villa is spacious and beautifully decorated by Iris herself, with multiple common spaces (large kitchen, cozy living room, large yoga/activity studio, patio with fire pit, and more) to gather your group together, and comfortable bedrooms. We were so happy when we found this property online and immediately fell in love with the pictures – and somehow, it’s even more pretty in person! We were able to work with Arnout directly before the trip to coordinate many activities on the property, along with taxis/transportation as well, which made it super easy for us to plan our group trip. From meals with a private chef at the large dining table, to a pottery class with Iris in her studio, to a flamenco class in the yoga/activity studio, to a lovely photoshoot with Alvaro in the vineyards, every activity was so much fun and allowed us to really maximize our time in this beautiful place. Iris even helped us set up and decorate the beautiful dining table for a lovely formal dinner with the private chef on our last evening, which added to the luxurious experience and helped it feel extra special – she mentioned you can also do this outside in the vineyards during nice weather as well! From the time we booked through our time on the property, Arnout was an attentive host, always on top of any coordination that needed to happen and very responsive over WhatsApp to any requests. We had a lovely stay at Mas Els Igols, and would absolutely love to come back some day. Will always have fond memories of our time there, and so thankful to Arnout and Iris for helping to make this such a lovely trip!! Wishing the team all the very best always!

From the initial contact to coming home Iris and Arnout were impeccable hosts. They organised our transfers to and from our airport and for the time we were there they catered to our every need and much more! What we didn’t realise on booking was that we would be walking into an artists home. The home was filled with Iris’s beautiful art and all the family’s love. Even the plates the food was served on were made by her! The villa is absolutely stunning, styled perfectly while embracing the beautiful surroundings. As a group of 14 yogis the space couldn’t have been better , the yoga studio had the best vibe and the giant birds nest was the most idyllic place to meditate. Arnout and Iris had organised a cook for all our meals (with wine) serving vegetarian food which was deliocuis, they also organised a BBQ for us which could have fed an army. All our meals were served outside so we could soak up the sun and the view of the vineyards. Arnout took us on a trek to a waterfall where we swam and had snacks. He also organised us transport to and from Barcelona for the afternoon. What I would highly recommend is the e-bike ride to the bodegas…something I will never forget. Arnout helped those who felt uneasy riding and took us to three vinyards with no judgment and all the fun. Iris kindly let us see her studio and shared her work, this is my only regret, that we didn’t book a workshop with her. This home and this family hold a really special place in all of our hearts, for all they have done for us and for all they shared. Nothing was ever too much, they were very professional and let us just be but in all honestly with such beatiful souls we could have been in their company all day. Thank you for the most special stay…I can’t imagine taking my clients anywhere else. Oh and you might want to take extra euros becuse you won’t want to come home without a piece of art! An incredible, enchanting place with owners as special as the accommodation. Their communication is first rate, and they genuinely want to learn to keep improving because they care. The wine tasting ran by Arnout was particularly fabulous. The building was decorated by the two owners and is full of many decorations designed by Iris who is an artist. All my friends kept saying was, where the hell did you find this place… it’s special!

We celebrated the new year in this dreamy place. It was one of the most beautiful accommodations that I’ve been. The interior was super beautiful, and mainly hand made. It was very clean and spacious. We found everything we needed to cook, eat and celebrate. The owner was really nice and let us stay more than what we supposed to. They were organized and on time to reply to our messages and requests since we booked the place. We’ll definitely repeat this trip.

One of the loveliest places I’ve ever stayed at! The house is large, beautifully decorated with unique art, and has everything my large group needed. The view of the vineyard outside at sunset was unreal, and we loved spending time by the pool surrounded by olive trees. Arnout was a gracious and helpful host who made our experience even better. He helped us arrange groceries and transportation and was super responsive. He truly went above and beyond. I’m so grateful I got to experience this place and hope to return.

LUGAR PRECIOSO Y PERFECTO PARA UN RETIRO DE YOGA o para desconectar con un grupo de amigos o familia el entorno es precioso en medio de los preciosos viñedos del Penedes, la casa es espectacular y decorada con mucho mucho encanto y los dueños siempre atentos y con mucha disposición a que tu estancia sea perfecta. tienen una sala de yoga, ideal para practicar, tienen vistas a los viñedos por delante y por detrás de la casa…tendrás una sensación de desconnexion y connexion con la natura….tranquilidad y silencio y por cierto, la casa esta totalmente equipada y reformada. todas las habitaciones tienen baño y además estan reformados lo recomiendo 100%

This place is unreal. I hosted a bachelorette for 10 girls at Arnout’s eco farm and it exceeded all expectations. The place itself is so special. Completely surrounded by vineyards, comfortable beds, decorated so nicely. You can tell there was so much thought put into every detail of the house. Everything from the venue, to all the activities Arnout organised for us were 10/10. Arnout and Jeltje went above and beyond to make sure our group had a weekend we’ll never forget.

Un casa preciosa, habitacions increïbles, estàncies immillorables. 100×100 recomanable per celebrar un aniversari, una boda, per anar un cap de setmana amb la família… Cal destacar l’entorn de la casa, aixecar-se del llit amb unes vistes precioses no te preu. Truly Magnificent place and people. I wrote for a month on the rooftop terrace in October watching the clouds over the vineyard. Got work done that couldn’t have happened anywhere else. Brilliantly kind and caring family facilitating true and sweet connection with the community surrounding the residency. I made wonderful friends and got work done, we made meals together and went hiking. Easy access to Barcelona! What a wonderful experience.

Going on an artist residency has been my dream for a while now and Mas els Igols is definitely a great place to do it! First of all, I love that it’s in the countryside, surrounded by the vineyards – with no distractions of a usual city life, it’s easy to focus on your art and commit fully to any project you are working on. Still, whenever you run out of art materials or maybe want to go to a proper restaurant or bar for a change, Barcelona is just a short train ride away. Second, Arnout is an incredible host and his family is so lovely and welcoming! Arnout is very knowledgable on all kinds of topics starting from contemporary art to neuroscience and was very kind to help me write a appealing artist statement. Also I was lucky enough to create couple of portraits of his adorable sons as I was looking for new models for my portrait series By the end of my stay I took part in a group show in Barcelona’s most artsy district among some other amazing artists from the residency which was definitely a highlight of my trip! To summarise, I highly recommend this residency to everyone who wants to spend some time with a strong focus on their art!

The Residency is a quiet comfortable home where I was able to reflect upon my work. Surrounded by beautiful vineyards, I was inspired to create. I highly recommend Mas Els igols to anyone looking for a peaceful place to think, reflect and create art.

It was a perfect residency for what I needed: A place to focus on my art practice, a functional work and living space, and a community in a foreign place. The residency is surrounded by endless vineyards in the country side of Barcelona, where the nearest village is a 25-min walk away. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, with no distraction. I was able to focus on my studio work. There are four large studios to accommodate maximum of 7 artists, with plenty of space and natural light. In addition, each artist has their own bedroom, most of which come with own toilet and shower. The bedrooms were well-kept and curated by it’s owner, who is also an artist, comfortable and clean. I was lucky to be surrounded by a nice group of artists of all ages and diverse backgrounds during my two-months there. We all respected our studio time but came together at our communal kitchen, studio visits, and occasional community dinners. It was nice to have an instant community in an unfamiliar place, where I didn’t speak the language. The Dutch family who run the place was very nice and easy going. I had many great conversations with them about art, art practice, politics, education and just about anything. I’d easily return to do another residency there :)

Sometimes in life, you really don’t realise just how amazing a place is until you encounter the opposite. After attending a another residency in Berlin which I can only describe as terrible, I thought back to the winter of 2016 when I was a resident here at Mas els Igols. This was my first residency and in many ways where I began my journey as a professional artist. The studio you get is Huge and the property itself is even more beautiful than the photos. In addition to your amazing studio, you get a seperate room with bedding that was handmade with love by one of the owners. I felt free, encouraged, and supported to explore and develop my practice. The owner, despite having two kids ( at the time, congrats on your third) and running a full on art school does all that he can to make time for you. I received multiple critiques facilitated by him and he has always made time for me and the other residents there when we needed it. As an artist who loves to experiment with tools and materials, I had access to a whole shed full of power tools. There were also screen printing facilities as well as a kiln that other resident I was there with took advantage of. The group show you are a part of is located in an amazing space in DOWNTOWN BARCELONA !!! Where many members of the community can see your work. Despite being in the countryside, you can make many trips to Barcelona where you can meet the students. You really feel trusted and a part of the community the moment you get there. Even years after I’ve finished my time there, the owner is still responsive to me if ever I needed anything such as advice or a reference letter. I wasn’t asked to write this but I am because I feel that other artists in the future would benefit from this experience as I did.
